Classification: Query
Surnames: McGregor, Davidson, Nevers
George McGregor married 1794 Elizabeth Davidson b 1779 eldest child of Willaim Davidson Sr. and Sarah Nevers early pioneer settler on the Miramichi

On May 24, 1809 George MacGregor and his two sons Alexanser and George Jr. petitions for land grants in the rear of the front lots on the south side of the Southwest Miramichi River.( Upper Nelson) They all claimed to have been residents on the Miramichi river for the past twenty years which means they would have been on the Miramichi by 1789. George Sr received 300 acres and his sons each received 200 acres in Upper Nelson
Elizabeth Davidson born 1779 married a George McGregor after her 15th birthday in 1794. Did she marry George Sr. McGregor or George Jr. McGregor.
In his travells in New Brunswick 1791 to 1792 Peter Campbell mentiones that while travelling down the Southwest Miramichi River his exploration party arrived at a house built by a set of wood cutters employed by a Mr. Fraser merchant on the river, where the small river ( thought to be the Cains ) falls into the Miramichi. The two brothers were John and George McGregor whom Cambell employed to nagivate his party further down the river as both brothers were well acquainted with the navigation and fisheries on the river.
It is believed that Elizabeth and George McGregor remained on the Miramichi would anyone have any information on this family.
