Joseph Hickie (b. Lorne, Durham Parish, Restigouche Co., NB ca. 1901), m. Durham Parish 7NOV1923 Marie Lena (Lina) Carrier (b. Jacquet River (or Lorne), Restigouche Co., NB 13DEC1905 (ca. 1906)), daughter of Robert and Virginia (Virginie) (Hickey) Carrier. Joseph was the adopted son of John and Catherine (Godin) Hickey.

Robert Carrier (b. Lorne Settlement in the Jacquet River area ca. 1871), m. 17SEP1900 Virginie Hickey (b. Lorne Settlement ca. 1883), d/o John and Caroline (Godin) Hickey. They are listed in the 1901 census of Durham Parish as Robert (10SEP1871) and Virginia (15JUN1883) living with her widowed mother, Caroline Hickie (25OCT1842) and Virginie's siblings, Sarah and John. In 1911 they are Robert (OCT1880) and Vergenie (JUL1884) Corria with children John E., Alfred, Mary L. (DEC1905) and Ida. A couple of households away was the family of John (AUG1883) and Mary (AUG1883) Corria with several children, There was also John's father, Amable Corria (JUN1832) and a Joseph Corria (JUL1902) described as a 'Nephew'. Probably John's nephew but the arrangement makes this uncertain as between Amable and Joseph is Angelique Corria (DEC1881), described as 'Daughter' so she must be Amable's daughter. So was Joseph the nephew of John Corria or was he Amable's nephew?

John Corria (AUG1883) appears to have been John Correa Jr. (11AUG1882) with a sister, Angelic Correa (15DEC1883) in the 1901 census of Durham Parish, but in that case their father is John Correa (29JUN1836). This is actually likely the same family as Angelique Corria (b. ca. 1881) m. 6SEP1921 John Duplessis and gave her father as John Amable Corria. Her mother was Marguerite Hickey.

At this point I begin to suspect that Joseph Corria/Carrier b. JUL1902 may have also been Joseph Hickie b. ca. 1901. Robert Carrier was the s/o Joseph and Mary Carrier. In Durham Parish in 1891 Robert Correa was age 19 years and his parents were Joseph (60) and Mary (48) Correa. John (52) and Maggie (52) Correa lived not too far off and amongst their children were Charles (23), Patrick (19), 'Xjavier' (13), John (7), Maggie A. (17) and 'Angelic' (10). So if Joseph Correa/Carrier/Hickey (as I surmise) was a grandson of John Amable Correa then one of those children was his father or mother.

I think a full resolution to your problem is going to involve a full study of the Correa/Carrier, Hickey/Hickie and Godin/Goodine families. See:

Where John Amable Carrier becomes Joseph Amable Carrier. Also:

I think those compilations are incorrect especially as a death registration for John 'A. Mabel' 'Corrier' exists that gives him as b. Eel River, NB JUN1835, d. Durham Parish 6JAN1923 age 87 years, the s/o Joseph and Mary (Cardin?) Corrier. This, according to his son, John Corrier of 'Nashes' Creek. Apparently this is the s/o Joseph Pierre Carrier and Marie Zoé Tardif. So far at least three records name him as John, not Joseph.
