I was rather hasty in compiling those notes. For example, in searching the 1851 census I neglected 'Herrington' as an option. That produces a family in Dukes & Queens Wards, Saint john, Saint John Co., NB:

Herrington Benjamin M Head 54 Born
Herrington Mary F Wife 43 Born
Herrington James M Son 7 Born Twin to Jane
Herrington Jane F Daughter 7 Born Twin to James

with, nearby, the family of John (27) and Maria (43) Herrington. This suggests several things. For example, Jane, the twin, may have been Jane Nevers (Never?) Herrington. Also, Benjamin was likely married before. There is also the question as to whether was one of the Greenwich Parish, Kings Co., NB Harrington's/Herrington's. I think he was but I am uncertain. For example, at:
Benjamin Harrington is suggested as a son of Joseph and Mary Harrington.

If I can, I'll try to look into it further.
