Whitehead S. Barker is my great-great-great grandfather (by his 2nd wife, Betsey Turney). According to my information, his first wife, Elizabeth Burpee, died on Nov. 15, 1834. He then married Betsey Turney the following year. Whitehead S. Barker died on Jan. 31, 1873, although I do not know his place of death. Since his children and grandchildren through my line of descent were all born in New Brunswick, however, I am assuming that is his likely place of death.
I am descended through Whitehead S. and Betsey (Turney) Barker's son, the Rev. Joseph Barker, who was born in Sheffield, New Brunswick, Canada on March 3, 1837. He married Annie M. Upton in 1863, and they had 7 children, all born in New Brunswick. My great-grandfather is this couple's son, the Rev. Franklin Whitehead Barker, who was born in Sheffield, N.B., Canada on Jan. 18, 1872. He married Mary Alice Smith in Hardy Station, N.B., Canada on June 20, 1895. My great-grandparents moved to Maine, my grandmother, Margaret Barker, being born in Mt. Desert Island, ME on Oct. 23, 1897. My great-grandmother, Mary Alice (Smith) Barker died in 1909, while my great-grandfather eventually settled in Connecticut. He died on Feb. 28, 1959, although, again, I do not know the place of death. My grandmother, Margaret Barker, married my grandfather, Walter Kenneth Graham, in Meriden, CT in 1921. They adopted two children, one of whom is my father. Both of my grandparents are dead, Margaret (Barker) Graham passing away on June 1, 1959 in Hartford, CT and Walter Kenneth Graham passing away on May 1, 1987 in Meriden, CT.
I hope this information is helpful.
