I am looking for any information on a George Plourde from Perth, New Brunswick, Canada. He and my grandmother (Cecile Cote) had a relationship back in 1939 that produced my mother. The only information I have is his name and where is was from. I doubt if he ever knew that the relationship produced a child. Any information will be helpful.

Thank you

Here's my dilemma. There were two Alexander Godin baptized in Kingclear NB in 1842. They are about 8 months apart in age. Their baptisms are on the same page in Kingclear parish book. One Alex parents are Augustine Godin and Victoria Martin and the other Alex parents are Alexander Godin and Rosalie Mazerolle. They are both in the 1861 census. Is there a 1871 census in NB? Does anyone have any info about Alexander h/o Ellen Frances parents? I have the Alexander and Rosalie couple but someone in my family makes me question my choose of this couple.

He had two sisters, Mary and Clara deceased whose daughters were Eunice S McCarrick who married Alexander H. Carr and Mary H. Simpson who married Leverett Estabrooks. He had three brothers, George, John (my great grandfather) and Everett living in Carleton County, NB. Robert is buried in Centreville, Carleton Co. next to the Baptist Church.
The Grumble, Graham, Horton, Morrell Connection

Trying to trace back these Families to their first connection with one another. I believe they all came together in the Chatham, Northumberland area, which eventually turned into the Richibucto and weldford areas of Kent County. My main focus is on the Morrell side of these Families.
Three GRUMBLE Sisters and one Brother were probably born in Kingston Parish,Kings County to possibly a George Grumble and Margaret Myshrall, and migrated to Kent County.

Son George Grumble b. abt. 1806 appears to have been a single person living as a lumber man and Farmer. He is first found in the 1851 Census of Victoria County.
Ref.:
1851 Census of New Brunswick County: Victoria
Reel no: C996 Division: Andover -- Town of Colebrook Page no: 19

33 |167| Samuel / Russell| M |H |45|American |Lumberman | 1825
34 |167| Helen / Russell| F |W |28|Native | Birth
35 |167| Susann / Russell| F |D | 9|Native | Birth
36 |167| Christopher /Russell| M |S | 8|Native | Birth
37 |167| Mariby / Russell| F |D | 7|Native | Birth
38 |167| Warren / Russell| M |S | 6|Native | Birth
39 |167| Ann / Russell| F |D | 2|Native | Birth
40 |167| ***George / Grumble| M |L |32|Native |Lumberman | Birth
41 |167| James / Breckett| M |L |23|Native |Lumberman | Birth

He returns to Kent County and is shown in the 1871 Weldford census, living with the Hortons.
Ref.:
Ref. My primary goal is to find the parents of James Morrell who died in Victoria County. I have already ruled out Hugh Morrell and his decendants living in Newcastle, Northumberland in
the 1850’s, because of his immigration date, and also the American Morrell Loyalists Thomas, John, and Daniel, because of a DNA test.
I have located the gravestone for Daniel and his second wife, Julia McFarlane McNeil Donnelly in the Anglican Cemetery at Bairdsville. However, there seems to be no marker there for first wife, Lillie Ann Wark. I also have the published obituary for Daniel Donnelly. I show Daniel having a family of nine children in his first family and four childern in his second family.

My grandmother was Mary Nichols, siblings were Whitfield Clarence or Clarence Whitfield, and Barbara. I have gotten marriage records on all three with two listing their parents as Marshall Nichols & Mary Jane Boyd. The other lists Marcelle Nichols & Mary Meglison. I have been unable to find the parents in any censuses to date. For the siblings I know that Barbara married Horace Quimby and for a time lived in Presque Isle. On Whitfield I can't locate him in any censuses. I've been told he had a farm just over the Maine border in Canada but have not been able to prove that with any census info. He was suppose to have about 6 children which I have also been unable to find. I'm really at a standstill on where my great grandparents were while they were living. Any help is appreciated.

I am looking for information on my great great granfather James Langley. Census records report a birthplace of Nova Scotia and Nw Brunswick.I have a copy of his mariage to Lydia Bubar on June 16, 1828 in Sunbury, with residence noted as Burton. In U S Census of 1850, he is living in what is now Caribou, Maine with his family. Next I find him in the Canadian Census of 1871 living with his son Frederick and listed as widower, in Four Falls or California Settlement, NewBrunswick. I would like information of his birthplace and date and also date and place of death. Also his parents names and birthplaces. The copy of his marriage certificate that I have does not show this information.

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and I will be happy to share information.

Help please-1800s/ McLennan family
Hello,

I have been having a devil of a time finding my grandfather's family in Maine, and I am beginning to wonder if they lived in New Brunswick?

My grandfather, John McLennan, was born at Ft Fairfield, Maine, May 8th,1853. He was the son of James and Jane McLennan, who had three other sons, James, George and David.

I have had no luck finding the family in Maine, and am now thinking that the family may have lived in the area that is now known as Victoria, perhaps in the area of Perth-Andover, which i believe is just across the border from Ft. Fairfield. My grandfather, went to sea as a cabin boy at age 11 from Portland, Maine. But I am beginning to think that the family was from New Brunswick, and didn't travel to Portland until after the 1860 Maine census.

Does anyone have McLennan in their databases or have access to such information that could find this McLennan family?
James' father was Donald McLennan from Inverness, Scotland, and James, too, was reportedly born in Maine, as was his wife, formerly Jane Findlay, daughter of Douglas Findlay, who came over from Aberdeen, Scotland. I can't find either family.

Any help would be most appreciated.

regards,

Bruce McLellan

obit lookup for Mary Nichols 6/30/1915

The info I have is that she was buried in Royalton. So far I have not proven that. I sent for a death certificate in Maine & none could be located. Due to that fact I believe she must have also died in Royalton. Would someone please check the papers & see if an obit can be found? I would also like to know who to contact in Canada to search out a record on her. Any help would be welcome

Ridgewell family in Victoria County, NB

I am looking for a Ridgewell contact in Victoria County who may be able to confirm a family link to the Ridgewells. In the Linton Corner Cemetery, there is record of Charlie Hayward who died May 28, 1908 (age 6 yrs 3 months). I believe he was an adopted son to George and Addie Ridgewell.

My grandmother was born a twin with a birth name of Hayward. She and her brother Charles Sydney Hayward were separated when they were adopted by different families. We have never been successful in finding Charles until this discovery in the Linton Co Cemetery. I would like to be able to confirm if this is our Charles and if it is, learn more about him and the family who adopted him.

I am looking for any information that anyone would have on the family "Cassista's".....when did they move here to NB.
They come from Quebec but there were three brothers who came to Drummond to settle and start there family...Norbert Cassista who m. Marie Michaud (parents Louis Michaud & Hermine Rioux), Pierre Cassista who m. Lumina Sirois (they were already m. when they moved here from Quebec), and my great grandfather Joseph Cassista who m. Helene Michaud (sisters to Marie who m. Norbert). Marie and Helene were already living in Drummond. Joseph does not appear on a census at all for 1901 anywheres in Canada but he m. Helene in 1907 and they were m. at the St. Michel Church, Drummond and their first born child was in 1908 but she died 6 months later, I believe in Aug then the following year in June 1908 my grandfather was born. I am having no luck in finding them anywheres....where they lived ect... Not to many people seem to know much about the Cassista from back then. I am guessing they were not a very popular family or well known. Not sure!!!!!!! Does anyone have any information or can lead me where to look.
Sandy

He married Marguerite Violette (listed as Margaret on the 1851 census).
