The death record of my ggrandfather may contain misinformation regarding his mothers maiden name.
1871 census of Richmond shows Pheby Harris the wife of William Harris. Also shows a child Annie Parks 7 years old and a 9 year old boy John.
1881 richmond census shows Phebe and William married with 2 Harris children and John McCart(he)y. Spellings vary on every document. but appear to be the same family.
My great aunt Stella McCarty married Johnnie Cole on Aug 17, 1924 at Wilmot, Carleton Co.
