Surnames: Major, Mauger
I am looking for a possible connection to the Cook/e Family.
My family story goes that George (Mauger) Major b abt 1836 of Petites Nl married Susannah Cook/e probably on the the south coast around 1857. as their first child was born in 1858.
It has been a long standing story in the family that she was a relation of a captain Cook ( Not THE captain Cook)...Any information would be helpful...... Lindsey
