Classification: Query
Surnames: Meany Matthews Payne
I saw on page:
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/CAN-NF-FORTUNE...
I think I found a connection. From:
John married Elizabeth ? [1515] [MRIN: 576].
Children from this marriage were:
2i.Edward Matthews [245]. Edward married Hannah Maria ____________ [246] [MRIN: 53] in 1880 in Shoal Brook, Newfoundland.
ii.James Matthews [1516] was born about 1843 in Burgo, Newfoundland and died in 1930 in Trout River, Newfoundland about age 87. James married Matilda Payne [1517] [MRIN: 577] on 4 Dec 1876.
My ancestors are James Matthews and Matilda Payne.
I have in my records that James Matthews was born in 1843. Location unknown. (so, you've filled that in)
He died in 1930 in Trout River,
He married Matilda Payne date unknown. (now I know)
Matilda was born: Matilda Payne
Born. 1854 Bay of Islands, NL
Died. 1914 Baileys Point, NL
I'm new to this. Can you explain the numbers in [] in the listing? I’m assuming it means there is information elsewhere to be had.. I see the connection within the document. Is there more outside of the document??
As an add-on to the Matthew line, Frances (Fanny) Matthews was a daughter of Matilda and James.
Frances Born: 1884 in Chimney Cove NL and Died: 1963 in Deer Lake. She had 2 marriages: Philip Meany (1st ) and XXX McAlister. My grandmother was a Meany.
How do I get access to your roots page? (again, new)
