I don't have anything to help you yet, but we may connect. My great grandmother was Susan Rideout, who was born in Twillingate in 1839. She married Moses Smith. Her sister, Tamer, who married a Fox, was also born there. Their father was Tobias, who was born around 1801 iin England. Family stories say he and Susan were shipwrecked off Newfoundland on the way to New York, but I don't know how accurate they are. Any connections that you see?
