Hi, I am looking for information on the family of John Mason who was born in Ireland and married a Sarah O'Brien before moving to Newfoundland in the mid 1700's. According to various researchers, they apparently had 4 sons -- James, Patrick, Peter and William. I understand that John and his sons were captured during the American Revolution and that he and his son James died in captivity in Philadelphia. I believe that Peter returned to Nfld and then moved back to Philadelphia (no further info). William Mason went to Nova Scotia and married Mary Ann Rodgers in Halifax before moving to Guysborough County, NS. I have no further info on Patrick who supposedly also went to Nova Scotia.

I was wondering whether anyone knew where they came from in Ireland and where they settled in Newfoundland or could fill in some blanks regarding Peter and Patrick? Were they any daughters?

Thank you!
