Your GGfatherDavid Martin was the youngest of seven children of Henry and Emily (Davis) Martin. His siblings were Thomas, Dorcas, Claude, Robert James, Clara, and Frank Scott. Vern and Columbine(female) were not David's siblings but were children of his brother Frank. I know them both personally, in fact I went to school with Columbine who now lives in the US.
David was the son of James (1809-1876)and Caroline (Bird) Martin (1815-1893). I have no further info on James. Both are buried In Cartwright, Labrador. Caroline was the daughter of George and Eliza (nee unknown) Bird. George Bird was the son of Joseph Bird of Sturminster, England, and he settled at Dove Brook, Labrador. As one of my GGmother's was Caroline's sister, I guess we are distant cousins.
Emily (Davis) Martin (1853-1894)was the daughter of Charles and Harriet (Pardy) Davis (1815-1897). Charles came from England and settled at Goose Cove, Labrador. He is buried at North River, Labrador, near Cartwright. Harriet (Pardy) Davis was the daughter of George and (name unknown) Pardy. George came from Rngland and settled at Paradise River, Labrador. His wife was Inuit.
Needless to say you have many, many relatives in Labrador.
