Hi Krista
Finally got a chance to scan my copy of "River Lords" and I'm sorry to tell you that the only reference to a servant in the John Peyton (father and son) home was on page 91 and 97. The reference on page 91 was to a widow named Mrs Jure, she was employed as a maidservant and to keep Eleanor (new wife of John Peyton II) company while he was away from home. Page 97 refers to Shanawdithit helping Mrs Jure with some of the household duties.
I am sure that this does not rule out the possibility of a Mary Beaton also being employed there at some point but there is no reference to her that I saw in this book.
