I have just discovered, to my surprise and delight, that my great-grandfather, Patrick Joseph Welsh, born about 1858, and his wife, Margaret Allen, also born about 1858, came from St. John's Newfoundland to Boston in the early 1800's. Their parents' names were Samuel and Annie Allen and James and Annie Welsh/Walsh. I would love to have any information on these people, and can exchange for research at the National Archives and Records Administration in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where I am a volunteer.
