HENRY/MARY MCDONALD OF ST.JOHNS

Trying to track down my GGF/GGM in St. John, NF. According to the church records of my GF/GM, the parents of James McDonald (GF) were James McDonald/Mary Krause of St.Johns, NF (both deceased at time of married. This is all the info we have on them. They assumed custody of James when his mother died shortly after he was born. Cant find info of all three living together on any census of NF. James was born William Mcallister but his named was changed to James Mcdonald when they assumed custody of him. Any one have any suggestions how I can try to track when they lived in St. Johns? James Mcdonald was born in 1892. Thank you
