Classification: Query
Surnames: Noseworthy, Sparks
I am currently trying to find info on my great grandparents prior to them coming to the states (Boston to be specific) in the late 1800's.

I know that they came from St. John's and Harbor Grace however there is much debate among the senior members of my family as to which of them was from which.

Edward had a big family, some of whom I know for fact still have children who are alive in Canada. Unfortunately I only have first names some of which are nicknames. His siblings were Dean (female, I believe this is a nickname), Sophie, Emma, Becky (Rebecca?). Lizzie (Elizabeth) and Ethel. His parents were Josiha and Emily (don't know her maiden name). I know my great grandfather was also a fisherman before he came to the states and he told me stories when I was young about being underway to help during the sinking of the Titanic. Unfortunately he had the duty of pulling the dead from the water. He came to the states when he was 18-ish where he became an iron worker in Boston. He had five children, Gordon, Florence, Grace, Violet (who lived for only one week) and Ruth.

I know a great deal about my great grandfather but very little about my great grandmother.

Emma Jane had one brother however we are unsure of his name. Her parents were John and Julia (don't know Maiden nmae) Sparks. There is also a family rumor that we are related through Emma Jane by marriage to Abigail Adams (wife of John Adams, second president of the United States) and I'd like to see if this is true. I'm told, somewhere in the line that someone in my linage married one of Abigail's siblings.
