hi again Donna, I don't have much at this point on the Summers/Somers of Carbonear. I do know that the family in Gooseberry Cove/Flatrock probably started in Carbonear. In the history it seems that a fair number came to Carbonear and over time as the area developed and became crowded they set out for less crowded areas. I understand that it was fairly common when they decided to do this, they would load a small boat with 3-4 days provisions and set out to find a good place or less crowded place for fishing. Any info you may have would be greatly appreciated.
