I'm trying to find the parents of this woman - or any documentation at all.
She married David Garfield Collins (born 16 Jan 1894 in Shoal Bay, Newfoundland to parents Samuel and Elizabeth) sometime before 1919. He went by Garfield Collins in most records. She died in childbirth on 16 Sep 1921. Her death record lists her as "Mrs. Garfield Collins" (argh!), age 23 and born in "Lower Burnt Cove" (a place that, to my knowledge, has never existed).
She was known as Lizzie Price - most likely meaning one of her given names was Elizabeth (although Eliza is another possibility). It was quite common to go by a second name, so this might not be the first name on her birth/baptismal record.
Also her family was supposedly from Trinity Bay. While there is no such place as "Lower Burnt Cove", the Price family at the time of her birth lived in Loreburn, Trinity Bay. Loreburn was know by several variant spellings as well as "Long Cove".
The death record implies that she was born around 1898, but given the other problems, this may not be accurate either.
So far, the Vital Statistics dept. has not been able to produce any record of this woman. Searching through the readily available Price family records for the time period of her birth has not turned up anything concrete. There were a couple other Elizabeth/Eliza Prices in this time and place, but both apparently were married to other men and outlived our Lizzie Price.
Any information or suggestions would be appreciated.
