Hi Karen~ I think your ancestor on the Breen side is one Sylvester Breen. According to NGB’s “Fishermen of Notre Dame Bay 1700-1900”, Sylvester Brian (Breen) was married and living at Fogo in 1823. The list also notes that Sylvester Breen 1 was from the old country, specifically Wexford County, Ireland. My best friends growing up were Breen's in Canada Harbour. (Some of them are now living in Baie Verte where they resettled.) Sylvester was an unusual name appearing several times in their older family and I note also it appeared in Coachman's Cove. With this unusual name occurring in different places, it is too much of a coincidence to believe that these are not descendants of Sylvester from Wexford County. The Breen's of Canada Harbour had a sister Agnes, I believe, who married a Barrett of Fleur de Lys...so there was association. Hope this is helpful. John
