Margaret Evelyn MacDonald, 79, Windsor, formerly of Port Williams, Kings County, died Thursday, Feb. 2 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born in East River St. Mary's Pictou County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. William and Elizabeth (Kent) MacDonald.
She was a well-known school teacher who taught throughout Nova Scotia. She was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, Wolfville.
She is survived by two brothers, Gordon, New Glasgow; George, Halifax; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Anna (Mrs. Walter Pye).
The body rested in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, Wolfville. Funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 4, St. Andrew's United Church, Wolfville, Rev. Gil Todd, Rev. Curtis MacDonald officiating. Spring burial in Athol Cemetery, Cumberland County.
Donations may be made to United Church Women of St. Andrew's United Church, Wolfville.
CONTRIBUTOR'S NOTE: Miss MacDonald was the last principal at the little school in Grand Pre' which closed in 1963 at which time students from Grand Pre\Hortville were bused to L. E. Shaw Elementary School in Avonport. She finished her teaching career at Port Williams Elementary. She never married.
