Classification: Query
Surnames: Boyd
One of my ancestors was John Boyd, who was born in England, emigrated to Canada abt 1844 and became a schoolmaster in Quebec. I don't know what became of him after that but tonight I found this and wondered if it is my man.

It was while teaching at the cove in 1850 that John Boyd made the first real start at his printing
business which two years later resulted in the first issue of "The Casket" at Antigonish.
At Malignant cove John Boyd printed a twenty page pamphlet titled 'A Short Memoir
of the Mission of Strathglass.'

Can anyone tell me more about this John Boyd, such as when he was born, who his parents were, who he married and when and where, and when he died?
Thank you for any help
Peggy
