Classification: Query
Surnames: McGrath, Doyle, Lee, Britton
Hi: I am looking for the county/town of origin for Michael, John and James McGrath who arrived in Rocky Bay circa 1820. Their friends/neighbors and country mates are Daniel Doyle, Mathew Lee and William Britton.
The 1838 census shows Michael McGrath abt 44yrs of age and married to Catherine Comerford both natives of Ireland. James McGrath, native of Ireland, is 30yrs of age and just married to Mary Kenny from down the road. John doesn't appear on any of the enumeration records?
The Irish tended to immigrate in groups so I'm hoping to find a connection through the research of associated families.
I have lots of additional info on the McGrath's and a bit on the Doyle's, Lees and Britton's. On my next trip to the archives I am researching the Jardine's, Kehoe's, Keating's and Conway's to see where these lines will take me. I have info to share.
