Pp 88-89 [1781]
22 October - The following officers of Colonel von Voit’s Regiment marched into captivity with the regiment. The others went on parole to Long Island, 32 miles from New York.

From Colonel von Voit’s Regiment [Note: p. 228 Prechtel states the officers 1-12 were “chosen by lot”]

Chaplain [Johann Christoph] Wagner (12), of the von Voit Regiment, received his requested release and wants to go to Nova Scotia with those favoring England.

12.) Initially Wagner had remained behind at Frederick where he had been promised work and planned to marry. He traveled to Nova Scotia with Molitor’s group in 1783 with four children, but no wife, and received 400 acres of land in Annapolis County.
