Hi, Jared. A bit belated but a comment by Sheila Coulton indicates that:
"The Elizabeth who later married Samuel and then John A. Smith, was b. @1831, in Kempton/Kimpton, NS, and was the d/o Thomas and Susanna."
actually refers to Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB. Elizabeth (Lizzie) was:
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Adelaide Flewelling b. Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB 8MAY1831 (ca. 1832) baptized Trinity Anglican Church, Kingston, Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB 7AUG1831, m. 1st at her father's residence, Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB by the Rev. W. E. Scovil 3NOV1870 Capt. Samuel Foote (b. 8MAY1830; m. 1st 1856 Susan Ellis (b. ca. 1833, d. 19DEC1869), d/o Samuel and Susan Ellis), s/o Samuel and Keziah (Killam) Foote (or Samuel and Christine (Moore) Foote); m. 2nd Tiverton, Digby Co., NS 21NOV1880 John A. Smith (b. Barrington, NS ca. 1821-2; m 1st _____), s/o Enid? and Maria Smith.
Or so I have it so far. Lizzie was a daughter of:
Thomas Abraham Flewelling b. 1794-5, d. Central Norton, Norton Parish, Kings Co., NB 14JAN1883 age 89 years, m. 12MAY1817 Susannah Craft Puddington (b. 4NOV1799, d. Kingston Parish, Kings Co., NB 20JUN1861 age 61 years), d/o William and Esther (Wetmore) Puddington.
This would rather neatly explain why Edwin Ellis Foote married Lizzie's niece.
I am still working on some of this but thought I would comment in passing.
