FYI, I have no known connection to this family.http://www.westerncounties.ca/digby/cgi-bin/getProperty02.cg...
Above links show that your "Edith L." was Edith Love. (actually Lovett or Lovitt)
That they lived on Clementsvale Road in Bear River, Digby Co, NS.
Images of that home at the above link.
They owned the property there from 1966-1976
It's interesting that she seemed to be listed as the primary owner.
It makes sense, though, when you read the narrative on the property, showing its history starting in 1896:
This house was built in 1896 for Dr. Lewis Johnstone Lovitt (1867-1942). The house was designed in New York City. The contractor was Mr. Hardwick. Dr. Lovitt was the son of Henry Lovitt. He was a cousin to former Prime Minister Sir John Thompson. His uncle was Attorney General Johnstone. He married Josephine Troop Marshall (d/o Alpheus). Josie died in 1953. They had two daughters: Dorothy Johnson Lovitt (married William Sutherland; a relative of movie actor Donald Sutherland), and Edith (married James B. Gorst).
So, Edith WAS Edith Lovett/Lovitt, d/o Dr. Lewis and Josephine T. (Marshall) Lovitt
Edith Pauline LOVETT, b. 16-May-1903 in Bear River, Digby Co. Her parents, Lewis and Josephine, were married 23-Sep-1896, Bear River, Annapolis Co, NS. (NOTE: Bear River is one village/town, on two sides of the river. The "northern" side is part of Annapolis County, while the "southern" side is in Digby County.). Lewis Johnstone Lovett (mother's maiden name, Johnstone/Johnson) was b. 28-Aug-1867, Kings Co, NS, s/o Henry Edward Lovett and Annie "Johnstone". He died 27-Apr-1942, at Mineral Springs, Moore County, North Carolina. His residence was still listed as Bear River, NS.
When married in 1896, Lewis was a bachelor of 29, Josephine, a spinster of 28. He was a physician (fits with history of house), He was born in Cornwallis (Kings Co) NS, son of Henry & Annie (Henry was in legal business, something to do with probate).
She was born in Bear River, daughter of Alpheus & Tamar (Hardwick) Marshall (Alpheus was a shipmaker/shipmaster...???).
Henry Lovett married Mary Ann Johnson on 06-Jan-1859, per birth record of their daughter, Annie Margaret Lovett (b. 1869, Brooklyn, Kings Co, NS). (Later found information indicating location of 1859 marriage was in Horton Township, Kings Co, NS) Another daughter of Henry and "Annie" was Mary, b. @1860, who arried Adoniram Stevens in 1878. She was born in Cornwallis. Another daughter born Cornwallis, about 1862, was Agnes L. Lovitt/Lovett, who married in 1882 to Harry S. Dodge. And let us not forget Jennie L. Lovett, b. @1862, who married Charles K. Harrington in 1886. She was also born, obviously, in Cornwallis.
