I don't remember what web page I got this info, but it could have been on the Mitchell web page.
I was always told that my Mitchell side of the family had married a MicMac. Colin Peter Mitchell b. 1795 married an Eliza Anne Horne b. 1804 d/o George Horne. I always believed that Eliza was the MicMac. It was only last month that I found a web page on the Hornes and realized that Eliza was not a MicMac.
The lineage as I have it is:
Michael Horne and Barbara Lobenger. He came to NS on the Gale, Rotterdam to Halifax as a single baker June 12, 1751 age 36, arriving at Halifax July 29, 1751 (Deserted to the French).
His son, Jacob Horne b. 1720, Strasbourg, Alsace, France, d. April 16, 1821, Eastern Passage. He married Frances Anastasia Savary, d/o Andre Savary and Mary Doucet.
Their son: George Joseph Horne, b?, d. April 18, 1848, Eastern Passage in the Horne Cemetary. George Joseph married twice - first to ? and second to Rachel (Rogers) Cook, married May 23, 1805 at St. Paul's Church.
Their daughter: Eliza Ann Horne.
Any further info you get please share it with me. And any corrections on the info I do have, please correct.
