Hi Sandra!
The folks at Benjamin Bridge have told me that the winery is named after the bridge nearby, that was named by the Benjamins who owned a farm on what is now the winery grounds and vineyard.
I know the mill was not far from there, but anyone know specifically which Benjamin owned the farm that is now the vineyard?
Also, I have seen evidence that Obed Benjamin started on the mill on land he obtained from the Brits in 1760, he sold out to a partner at some point, and eventually SP Benjamin bought it back...anyone else know any more information on that?
Craig
