My two cents worth on this mystery are first to confirm that all indications are that Charlotte Huntley who married George Jess in 1820 and married David Wood in 1855 was the daughter of Daniel Huntley and Elizabeth Wickwire.

Explaining the mother's name could be a mixup between Daniel Huntley's first and second wife, but that doesn't explain the 1808 marriage date.

If the 1808 marriage date is accurate, then there is room for George Jess to have married a previous Charlotte born from this first marriage between Abigail in 1776 and Sarah's death in 1779, but why would Daniel name a child from a second marriage to Elizabeth Wickwire "Charlotte" in 1803 if he already had one who was living in 1808?

All sorts of scenarios come to mind, but I wonder if perhaps the simplest explanation is that there was a different Daniel Huntley with wife Sarah who had a child Charlotte who married the same George Jess in 1808 before he married a second Charlotte Huntley in 1820? There's lots of room for George Jess to have married in 1808 before marrying again in 1820. I have his birthdate of about 1785, so he was 35 in 1820 and 23 in 1808.

Are there "orphan" Jess's between 1808 and 1820? is there another Daniel Huntley who may have married a Sarah and had a Charlotte?
