I'm trying to find the record of the marriage of Hannah Cox to John Thomas Milton. According to an affidavit she filed to receive a Civil War Mother's Pension, they were married by Parson Presyth of the Church of Scotland in the Parish of Horton, Nova Scotia. The affidavit says they were married on 8 November 1863 - but that has to be a clerk's mistake because her husband died in 1862 (Hannah was apparently illiterate and signed the affidavit with an X, so she might not have noticed the error). I'm guessing the year was 1836, but it could have been much earlier.
They had several children born in Nova Scotia:
Hannah, about 1828
John T., 1831, in Kentville
Edward, about 1833
Thomas, 11 May 1835, in Kentville
Martha, about 1837
The family moved to Woodstock, Carleton, New Brunswick about 1840, and their son Charles was born there in 1844.
Any information about the marriage, the children's births, or the parents of either Hannah or John would be much appreciated!
