Surnames: Stewart,Hawes,Porter,Watters(?)
My grandmother Sarah Agnes Stewart born Nov 8, 1891 according to death certificate but according to census of 1891 the year was 1890 born in Westville,(Presbyterian) to Daniel W. Stewart (miner) and Sarah Porter. Sarah Agnes Stewart married Joseph Henry Hawes,Roman Catholic(miner) , born in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia to William & Agnes(Chapman) Hawes they were married March 1, 1913 by license,Presbyterian in Westville. In the presense of James A. Walter and Mrs J Walter by Rev R. Cummings. Daniel W. Stewart was born May 10, 1856 in McLellans Mountain to Alexander Stewart and a Mary or perhaps Margaret ( ? ). Sarah Porter was born July 28, 1864 in Mt William to James W. Porter and Elizabeth Walters or Watters. According to LDS records it was Watters. Daniel W. Stewart and Sarah Porter married June 12, 1883 by license in Westville (Presbyterian) by Rev Robert Cummings. In the presence of Daniel Hillman and Daniel Waters . Sarah and Joseph had five children while they were still living in Westville,Evelyn Margaret, b: Sept 24, 1913, Kathleen Mary, b: Dec 14, 1915, Joseph Henry b: Jan 7, 1918 , Dorothy Agnes b: Apr 12, 1920 and Frances Helen b: Feb 18,1922 these were born in Westville. The family then moved to the United States sometime between March 1922 and before Dec 1923. These siblings have all passed away before 1996 so what Stewart information they knew is gone. On the child Joseph Henry Hawes (Jan 7, 1918)nickname HARRY ,he had married the first time in Canada to a women named Margaret(?) they had two boys. I do not know where. He then moved to the United States and remarried at sometime.I have been able to find information about the Porters from the LDS Site but the Stewart part I'm not having alot of luck on. Does this look familiar to anyone? I would like to find the missing linkf for the last 3 living children. They were 3,5,6, when their mom died. I'm looking for living relatives and passed. They wan to have a sense of belonging instead of the feeling of being hatched. Also my grandmother Stewart had family in New Hampshire,Vermont and California in the United States, that is the only thing my mom could remember being said, I'm not sure when. I can be reached directly at
