Hello, I am trying to find out informaiotn on my late relative Peter Lopatynska. His name is spelled many ways and sometimes shortened to Lopate???? So its very hard to find anything on him. I do know he came to Canada around 1910 approx. from Austria with two sisters Anne and Maria. The sisters ended up in Manitoba and he lived in Geraldton, Ontario. I understand he may of died around 1950 and is buried there. I would like to find out anything about him. If you can help me out, please contract me. Thank you for your time and help.

Hi I am looking for any information on my father. We used to live in Inuvik. My father was the fire chief there sometime between 1959 and 1962. I'm hoping that someone can give me some information, pictures, documents etc.
My fathers name was William Earl McDerby. I used to have a LOT of pictures and stuff, but everything was lost in a house fire. Now I am looking to replace as much as I can.

Looking for any information on a Mr. Larry Cousineau who lived in Inuvik in early to mid sixties.He was enlisted with the Royal Canadian Navy and was transferred to Thunder Bay, Ontario when it was discovered his girlfriend was pregnant. Girlfriend's name was Liz Dillon/Kaglik and she was about 21 years old when she gave birth.
Larry Cousineau is from Thunder Bay, Ontario and is of french canadian descent.

Mary Ann Newberry homestead on the N.W. 1/4 of Section 28, Twp 19, Range 10, W2. The letter advising her that the patent had been granted was address to her at Chickney, N.W.T. Can someone please tell me where Chickney was. I can not find it on any of the Twp lists I have found.

Also, her son homestead on the S.E. 1/4 of Section 18, Twp 22, range 17 W2 and his letter was addressed to him at Loon Creek, Assa. Where would that have been located?

I'm looking for information on Hjalmar Nelson Dale, aka H.N. Hamar. His original name was Hjalmar N. Hundhammer, and he left Dale, Norway for Minnesota in 1913. He crossed the Canadian border the following year, and spent four years in Alberta before he travelled to the Northwest Territories. He was a trapper and spent time all over the place; up the Mackenzie River, by Great Slave Lake, then Lynx Lake, the Thelon River, Baker Lake, and most likely Chesterfield Inlet. Then back to the Mackenzie and Great Bear Lake in the early 1930s, where he was based out of Norman Wells. Supposedly there's some info on him in archives in Yellowknife and Ottawa, but I have no idea which. I'd be grateful for any info on the subject.

I am looking for all kinds of informations and help in my search for the brother of my grandfather Peter Louis Jorgensen (PLJ).
This brothers name was, when he left Denmark, Hans Peter Jorgensen (HPJ) and he was born Feb 18, 1850 in Nylars parish, Bornholm County, Denmark.
I have only few facts about him after he left Denmark.
He travelled in 1872 with his younger brother Jens Christian Jorgensen (JCJ), who became a farmer in Humboldt county, California.
HPJ was a blacksmith and according to JCJ in 1898 his last residence were Klondyke, North West Territories, Canada in 1885.
The brothers may have changed their surnames into Johnson according to faint memories from old Danish familymembers back in the 1930’s.

I found a missing family member in the NWT (Creuzot) with the land record as follows: Part SW, Section 32, Township 50, Range 5, Meridian W4. Through this I was able to locate descendents of my grandfather's brother's family. I just realized there is also listed an Edwin Covey on the NW part of the same land. I have no idea who this might be. If anyone has any information on him, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I am first off interested in my late grandpas (George Joseph Cote) mothers side of the family. His parents were:
Velore Joseph Cote & Lillie "Bertha" Boucher. I would love to know any of the following: who she was, where she was born, what her ethnic background was exactly, who her parents/siblings where, who her grandparents where etc...The info is below. ANY help is appreciated!

I have found a lot of info on the Cote/Quesnal/Quesnel/Poupart families but keep hitting a wall with the Boucher side.

Secondly i would like any info on any of the Quesnal/Quesnel/Poupart lines. Who knows what else I may learn about them. My great great grandpa Remi Cote (Velore Josephs father & mother) was married to a Catherine Poupart. There was some METIS found in her line. I am very curious about this.

I know of Ignace Cote (Remis father) but little is known about Remis mother Ursule Quesnal/Quesnel. When she was born/died/where she was from etc...There is a lot of Algonquin Indian on this side. The names Marie Suzanne Mogoya & Marie Mite8ameg8k8e Couc are very interesting to research. I can't seem to find anything on Marie Suzanne Mogoya. I would love to know more about her family as well.
I do however have TONS of info on Marie Mite8ameg8k8e Couc.

Peter HAAS 1978 obit look-up

I am wondering if there is sks out there that may be able to help me out.....I live in Ontario and am looking to obtain an obit for my brother-in-law.
I am not certain of the paper that it would have been in though.
What I do know:

b. Feb. 10, 1952 Germany
d. Dec. 14, 1978
He died as the result of a plane crash along the river between Inuvik and Tuktoyaktuk. He was a former member of the RCMP; took a leave of absence to get more hours in on his flying as he would have went back to the RCMP as a pilot.
He is buried in Prince George, British Columbia where he was stationed with his wife. They had no children.
He had a formal RCMP funeral which many attended.
I have also been told that his death record would be registered in the NorthWest Territories as this is where the plane went down.
I would like to obtain a copy of the death record as well as a copy of his obit and any other mention of the accident in the paper. If you can help me I would really appreciate hearing from you. I am willing to reimburse anyone for these copies. One would just have to let me know the cost......I am not familiar with the cost of a death certificate/record.

My G.Grandfather Magnus BROWN came to Canada from Scotland in 1859 to work for the HBC He had 13 children.
One of his wives was Ann NORN (NORNE). After working in the NWT for 40 yrs he retired from the HBC and moved to Athabasca AB. He built the first Anglican Church in Athabasa. He also contracted out to the HBC to build York boats in that town. I have a lot of info. on him, and what I'm really looking for is info on my G.Grandmother Ann
Norn(NORNE). I would be willing to share what I have. I
beleive Ann was aboriginal. I would love to hear from you.

My great grandfather William Byas Irvine bn 1843, Kirkwall Orkney worked for HBC at Forts Simpson and Norman c1870-1910. He had a daughter, Jessie, with a native woman - born c 1875.
He married Margaret Catherine Pritchard who died in 1895 leaving him with 8 small children. Not being able to care for them, he took them to Halcro Sask and wife's parents.
At this point Jessie is no longer with the family.
What became of her?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

I am looking to make contact with any descendents of my Great-uncle-Georges Letourneau--born in 1883 in Aurora, Kansas. My info says George spent his lifetime trapping in the NWT and/or northern Alberta. I also have been told that He & his wife had 12 children. I believe he died in the 1970's. I'm looking to find my Grandfather's journals. I've heard that they were donated to a library or archives possibly in Yellowknife. He was Gordon Bailey and my Grandmother was Ruth Bailey. Gordon Bailey was a Pentecostal minister in Yellowknife for many years. Anyone in need was welcomed into their church and home. They were well known there. They also received the Order of Canada. My mother was (is) their adopted daughter, Agnes Ruth Bailey (68)and her brother, Ernest Bailey (56)was (is) their adopted son.
I would also be interested in contacting a woman by the name of Eva Nicholl who tended to my grandparents needs.
I believe she was in Fort Smith NWT.

Furthermore, he will be sadly missed by his many friends and associates.
