I also have ancestors of Duncan and Margaret(Ferguson) Campbell.
Margaret in 1842
Peter "Black Pete" Campbell in 1845
Ann Campbell in 1847
William Duncan Campbell in 1852
I have marriage records of several of the children and all state Margaret's maiden name as Ferguson.
I suspect this family group moved from Cape Breton to Bruce County about 1852 - 1861 as I found several of the children living there and getting married in that area the first in 1861. I am sure they were living in Kincardine in 1871 and 1881 and Duncan's Son William was operating a hotel in the 1890's in Kincardine through the 1901 census
I believe that a Neil Campbell is also related to this group as I found that Captain "Black Pete" Campbell had a crewman named Neil Campbell who later became a captain on his own. His father is named Philip Campbell and I suspect Philip is a brother of Duncan Campbell. Making Neil Campbell and Peter "Black Pete" Campbell as cousins.
I would be happy to hear from anyone that has sorted out the several Duncan and Margaret Campbell's that lived in Bruce County.
