PHILION FAMILY

I have information on
Jean (John) PHILION, b. 1842, m. 23 Nov 1863 at St. Patrick’s Church (Kent St.), Ottawa, CAN to AnnEllen RUSSELL, b. 1842 in Ottawa, CAN, d/o Robert RUSSELL and Ann FERRIS.

Children of Jean PHILION:
Mary Ann Frances PHILION, b. 12 Sep 1864
Marie Heline Delimas PHILION, b. 17 Apr 1872

(witnesses were Hormisdas Philion and Delimas McGee…I mention

these because they are such offbeat names)
Robert Charles PHILION, b. 11 Aug 1874

I am still in the process of scanning the microfilm of the St. Patrick’s Church
For additional information.

It is possible that Joseph PHILION may have been one of these children.
Do you know his date of birth? Or his parents?

I am not too good on Canadian geography so don’t know where Sturgeon Falls, CAN is. Is it close to Ottawa? If so, this would increase the chance that our families were connected.

My RUSSELL family lived right in Carleton County in what is now downtown Ottawa and sometimes referred to as “Nepean”.

I have checked the site www3.sympatico.ca/ag.lewis/history/htm a site for Irish migration via Ottawa area called “Bytown or Bust”.. There is much to be gleaned

I hope you will let me know Joseph’s date of birth and also where Sturgeon Falls, CAN is.
