Surnames: Corbett
I'm trying to piece together my father-in-laws family tree. He was brought up in a foster-care type home in Regina, Saskatchewan. He never knew his parents, but we obtained his long form birth certificate 2 years ago, and now we know his parents were Albert Jackson & Florence Victoria Johnson, both born in Manitoba. Married in Manitoba in 1922. My father-in-law, John, was born in Regina, Sask in 1931. The birth cert says he was the 5th child born to Florence/this couple.

I have been trying to trace who Albert Jackson & Florence Victoria Johnson were, and interestingly enough, George Albert Corbett's name has come up during my search, and as a result, I have done extensive searches on George Albert Corbett & his family - parents: James Corbett & Jane Charters, etc.

In the 1901 Canada Census, George Corbett is 22 yrs old, Single, living in Pipestone, Brandon, Manitoba. Listed as the Head of the house along with 6 year old DAUGHTER "Bartiss Armstrong", 5 year old SON "Wifbred Armstrong", 2 year old SON "Roye Armstrong" and 2 month old ALBERT JACKSON! The Census says Albert Jackson's birth date was 20 Jun 1900, born in Manitoba. So how can he be 2 months old in the 1901 Census?! I checked Manitoba Vital Statistics and found a birth for an Albert RICE Jackson in Pipestone, Brandon, Manitoba on 21 Jun 1900, but then I found a death record for him 10 Sep 1900. Albert Rice Jackson's mother's name is listed as Annie Meredith. I have found a marriage for Annie Meredith & Thomas Wesley Jackson.

I can't figure out why 22 year old George Corbett has 4 children living with him. But I also can't figure out the coincidence of an Albert Jackson born 20 June 1900 Manitoba, living with George in Pipestone, Manitoba in 1901, and then Albert Rice Jackson being born in Pipestone, Manitoba on 21 June 1900, but apparently dying a few months later. There is only one birth for an Albert Jackson in Pipestone, Manitoba.

Maybe there's a really huge screw up with this 1901 Census!

I have tried every angle I can think of to solve who the Albert Jackson is that is living with George Corbett in 1901. And where is Albert Jackson after that?

Do you happen to know anything about the children who were living with George Corbett? I hope this link to the 1901 Census works for you:
