Looking for information and descendants of the James Corbett family of Corbetton, Melancthon Township. James Corbett was born in 1832 in King Township, York, Ontario. He married Jane Charters when is not known. It is not known if they had any children. James Corbett was a farmer and then a postmaster from 1881 until his death in 1902. He was also said to have owned a hotel in Corbetton. James Corbett died on January 30, 1902 and is buried in the Shelbourne cemetery in Shelburne. Can anyone point me in obtaining additional information on the history of the post office and hotels? Also where can I obtain his obituary notice from the local paper?
