Revisiting my Rose family history. I read a transcription yesterday that says Daniel Rose had 5 sons who fought in the Revolution. Unfortunately the sons were not named. Daniel was on his land Lot 1 Niagara by 1783 farming for the fort at Newark. He fought with Brant's Indian Department. There is a marriage at St Marks of Abraham Bowman s/o Abraham and Dorothy Bowman to Jane Rose d/o Daniel and Jane Rose. Abraham and Jane are my 5 gr grandparents.The date of that marriage makes it unlikely Daniel Rose,the 1783 farmer, is her father and more likely her grandfather and I'm guessing one of Daniel's five sons was named Daniel. I really don't know that though. It is interesting that in 1783 Daniel Rose has 12 acres of Lot 1 cleared but in 1784 the same lot has DAVID Rose and A Cunningham.J :)
