The 1842 Upper Canada census shows an Amos Wright, farmer, in Darlington, Newcastle District, Upper Canada. Head of Household census only. 8 natives of the United States of America in the household. Two males between ages 5-14; two females between ages 5-14; two single males between 18-21; one married male ages 60 and over; one single female over the age of 45. All follow another religious denomination (ie, not Church of England/Scotland, Baptist, Anabaptist, Independent, Congregationalist).

There are no Wrights in Darlington in the 1851/52 census.
