Elijah Goff is listed on the Petition of Colonel Talbot to Loyal and Patriotic Society, with list of persons plundered at and near Port Talbot; dated at York, 1814 (From report of Loyal and Patriotic Society, pp 384-387) - Item 38. Elijah Goff, a wife and six children.. He is given next to Dute Underwood and Jarvis Phair (this may be Jarvis Thayer and may have a relationship to the Goff - Thayer marriage at Malahide A David Goff married Mary Ann Thayer at Malahide 3 Dec. 1839. In the 1828 Upper Canada Militia Rolls, Jarvis Thayer is at Yarmouth Twp. , over 40 since he is is the reserves.) - from The Talbot Regime, C. O. Ermatinger, p. 341-343
Upper Canada Land records show that he was given land at Dunwich Township, which is now a part of Elgin County, Ontario. This would have been the London District of Upper Canada in 1825. He was given the North half of Lot 29 on Concession 2 of Dunwich Township. [check abstracts for later owners and transfer deeds.]
