Classification: Query
Surnames: Von Veber, Weaver (Wever), Dubois, Deo, VanCise, Ward, VonWagoner, Bradshaw, Sovereen
The story goes that in the early 1800's a Johan Von Veber (spelling?) was given a Crown Land Grant in Elgin Co. He settled their a short time with 11 sons but went on to Pennsylvania, USA, where he changed his surname to Weaver. Four of the sons returned to South Dorchester Twp., James, Fred, Daniel and Carol (?). I have been able to trace one of the sons, Daniel. Daniel married Elizabeth Dubois and settled on Lot 22, Con 11, South Dorchester. They had the following children: Frederick (married Clarissa Vancise), Betsy (married Nathaniel Deo), Polly (married a Sovereen?), Vica (maybe Louisa) married Sheldon Ward, Myra (maybe Elmira) married a Wm. VonWagnoner and/or a Bradshaw) and James (married Caoline Deo). I know that two of Daniel and Elizabeth's sons, James and Fred, went on to Lambton County and two daughters, Vica (Louisa?) and Myra remained in Elgin County near Alymer. Betsy married to Nathaniel Deo immigrated to Michigan. I believe Polly and husband immigrated to Montana, but not certain of this.

One more point, the surname Weaver was sometimes spelled Wever.

I would be very interested in corresponding with anyone familiar with these descendants of Johan Von Verber.
