Hi,

This is a very sad story, the bright spot being that you were able to re-unite your father and uncle.

Do you know if Robina (Ruby) Weir was from the Windsor area or was she "sent" there to have the babies? Do you know where she lived, where her family was from? Her age when she had the twins? Any addresses, other names in the family? Did Gordon stay in Windsor?

IF Robina had family in Windsor, the library has an on-line index to obituaries published in the Windsor Star (not all years are covered). The dates are the date of publication, not the date of death. (There is a Gordon and a Geraldine Weir listed....NOT saying they are related).

I might be able to help with other old newspapers, if I knew where Robina lived.

This is a pay site for the Toronto Star, which I have never used but have seen people recommend. You can do a basic search for free, but it only shows "hits". There is also a lady on the Toronto board, Donna, who is kind enough to do look ups for people.
