Great to make another Brown connection. I just assumed that the Henry Brown with Isabella Brown in 1891 Pittsburgh, Frontenac census was her son. I think Henry may belong to John Brown and Eliza Mitchell, then. Thanks for clarifying who Effie Seal was, and who Jemima Brown married. By the way, who is Darryl? In answer to your question re the Laverty family. Yes, I can answer that. I will give you a brief account, but it would probably be better if we communicated via email as I have quite a few details. The 6 known children of Archibald Laverty and Rose Brown from Co. Antrim, Ireland were : 1) Jane Laverty born Ireland in 1836, left the Frontenac area in 1857, moving to Elderslie Twp., Bruce Co. to work for the John Fulton family. She married my g. grandfather Eleazar Hammond in 1863. They farmed there the rest of their life. Jane died November 13, 1899. They had 7 children, one of who was my grandfather William. I was raised on that same farm. 2) James Laverty born Upper Canada, never married and lived on the home farm in Pittsburgh Twp. all his life. He died in 1921 and is buried in Sand Hill Cem., there. 3) Mary Ann Laverty never married and lived with brother James all her life. She died on Dec 3, 1918 and is buried in the same Cem. They helped raise Thomas and Hattie Brown after their parents, Agnes Laverty and George Woods died. 4) Agnes Laverty married George Woods on January 16, 1872. They were living at Gananoque, Leeds Co. when George died March 27, 1880, & still there for 1881 census. Agnes died Aug 22, 1888. Their oldest children Rosanna and Jennet may have died then too. Youngest Thomas and Hattie were with uncle James and Aunt Mary Ann in 1891 & 1901. Thomas, married to Jessie is still there in 1911, but Hattie is gone (where?) 5) Margaret Laverty was with Laverty family until 1871, but does not appear with them in 1881. No further info on her. 6) Jennett married Henry Brown on Nov 3, 1880?, Gananoque, Leeds Co.? They had two sons Wilfred and Oswald. Henry & Wilfred worked for the railroad. I would be most interested in any further details you have on any of the connected Brown and Laverty family.
