The reason I asked about the lot and concession is that when doing research it is very helpful in sorting out a bunch of Chisholm's. If you were to have it before going to St. Andrew's you should then drop in to the Land Office in Alexandria and have them print off an abstract on that lot. From this you can see the original grant as well as all subsequent transactions such as deeds, bills of sale and maybe if you are lucky a Last Will which I had found for my GGGF.
I noticed in my book on Glengarry marriages the following:
David Chisholm son of John and Anna Monro married at St. Raphael's 22-01-1816 to a Mary MacRae daughter of Duncan and Anna Chisholm.
Alexander Chisholm son of John and Nancy Monro married at St. Raphael's 08-10-1844 Elizabeth MacIntosh daughter of Alexander and Janet MacDougald.
Hugh Chisholm son of John and Anna Monroe of St. Andrew's married at St. Raphael's 04-02-1823 to Ann MacDonald daughter of Hugh MacDonald and Margaret MacDonald
In Father John's Diary of Death's there is a Alexander Chisholm who drowned 1860 son of David Chisholm, son of John Chisholm North Branch 9th October.
Also there is a David Chisholm who died 12 Jan 1843 of North Branch.
Also there is a Margaret Chisholm who died Sept 16, 1846 wife of Rory ?? North Branch. * added Dougald MacDonald, son of Angus, son of Dougald, son of Ranald, son of Donald Ban at River Baudet.
Also a John Chisholm died 1857 Cornwall Lot ? The Branch son of John May 27.
I also noticed on the Mormon site that your John Chisholm is shown married to Nancy Munro. It shows he was born abt. 1762 and she 1766 both in Tain, Ross-Shire, Scotland and both died North Branch Glengarry and buried St. Andrew's. It shows she died 1839 and her father was David b: abt 1740 and mother Nancy MacKay born 1744.
I looked for your John Chisholm in my Dictionary of Scottish Emigrants to Canada and there are many who came and all from Strathglass but all came to Nova Scotia. Is it possible that he came by way of the US as a loyalist?
In the Petitions, Land Grants book there is a David Chisholm and Land Grant No. 3632 in Cornwall and being the son of John Chisholm of Lot 1 Concession 7 Cornwall a U.E. Loyalist.
