Hello Susan,

I would be curious to know if you have any information to link your ancestor Dugald to any of the British Queen McCormicks who settled in Glengarry County, Ontario in 1790. Those McCormicks, Donald and his grandson, John, and the probably unrelated Rory (mistakenly also called Donald on the passenger list) were from Cleadale on Eigg. Other McCormicks followed in the next few years and they were all related to the original Donald who settled on lot 17/3rd of Lochiel. There are stories of some McCormicks stopping off in Nova Scota but there has never been a connection made to any McCormicks in the Maritimes. There has also never been a connection made to Dugald or the Sarah (Mor) MacCormick (w/o John MacQuarrie) who also settled in Nova Scotia at that period. Any clue would be helpful. I fear however, that no link will ever be proven.
