I have Maj John McIntosh (it stated he was a Major)discharge papers from the regiment in 1785 and it states that he came from Scotland by way of the Providence of York in 1773. He served for 9 years. I have his request in Aug 1808 to be listed on the EU Loyalist list and on that same day his children, Peggy, Mary and Anne requested their land grants in his name. I have the paper that shows he was added to the list one month later in September 1808. The only Petition that lists an age is Peggy, she was 21 at the time making her born around 1777. So Capt. John would be her older brother. Last night I did find the death notice of Mary McDonald and it did say she was married to Captain John McIntosh and Samuel and Duncan McIntosh were present at the enternment so most likely her grandchildren. WOW! I have been trying to somehow tie Samuel to our family and now I think I have it. Thank you!
