James:
1) I am interested in whether you think this McDonald family came to Canada in 1853 aboard the Sillery. I have McKinnon ancestors from Samadalan, Knoydart, and McPherson ancestors from Doune, Knoydart, who were probably among those evicted in 1853. Both families appear in the 1851 Scottish Census for Glenelg Parish. The McKinnons settled in Lancaster Twp, Glengarry County and the McPhersons went to Saint-Zotique in Soulanges County, Canada East, after arriving in Canada. The timing suggests they would have been Sillery passengers but no passenger list survived. It seems to me that the 1851 Census would inlude many Sillery passengers. I wonder how many of them went to Glengarry County and vicinity after arriving in Canada?
2) Did you compile this list from the 1851 Census yourself or is there a transcript somewhere? Nicely done!
