Hi Joy . I have long suspected that the Ann / Nancy McDonell / McDonald who married Alexander Alex Grant Lot 25 & 26 SSRR at Cashion's Glen may indeed have been connected to Roderick Rory McDonell Lot 19 Con II SRR . I have yet to definitly locate her parentage , but she is said to come from Glenbrooke which is located at the east end of Street Road and is directly south of Roderick Rory McDonell's Lot 19 Con II SRR . Part of said Lot 19 Con II SRR is still held by Roderick Rory McDonell's descendants , but they now call themselves McDonald . I have a cousin Francis Ross McDonald [who also comes from Roderick Rory McDonell], who wrote a book titled 'Legacy of Tradition' that deals with this extended McDonell / McDonald family . Ross may yet help me track down the parents of the afore mentioned Ann / Nancy McDonell / McDonald . By now you must be aware that half the people in Glengarry at this time were either GRANT or McDonell / McDonald , and that the first names were repeated over and over again each generation . We must find 'documentation' to support our suppositions . Sir John Johnson Manor house is now open on Mondays from 10am to 2pm , so I may try to visit it .
