Hi- I have a parital list right now- I may have more in some other paperwork, but here's what I can find: Angus Ban MacDonald emigrated from Knoydart in 1786 on the ship McDonald with his family and a majority of the population on Knoydart at the time. They went to Glengarry County, Canada. The family included some children (Angus and his wife Helen had 13 children, but not all of the emigrated), and first cousins to Angus, Malcom MacDougall and Allan MacDonald, as well as Angus' son-in-law, Farquhar MacRae. Angus' brother Finan, uncle John and cousin Duncan were all Loyalists already living in Glengarry. Also emigrating with them was Father Alexander MacDonnell, who was to become the first Catholic Bishop of Upper Canada. Angus Ban's family settled five miles south of the main body of immigrants in Charlottenburgh.
