Some additions to to the orginal post. Joseph was born in Oct 1823. His father's name was Matthew. Two confirmed brothers are William and Robert also born in Ireland. The name of the ship is was the Elsi Robinson (spelling?) and set sail from Belfast in September of 1836 for Montreal, CA. No luck so far with any information about the ship.
