Classification: Query
Surnames: Mason, Robinson, Burk
My many great grandmother Rebeckah/Rebecca Robinson( b. abt. 1786, USA) married Joseph Mason (b. abt 1789, Montreal). They lived and had children in Glanford Tp right in the area of Mount Hope. Subsequest children claimed to be of French descent. All protestant of one flavour or another, usually Methodist.
In the 1881 census, the above Joseph has passed (1871). His son, Joseph (b abt 1827), is now in Oneida Tp, Haldimand Co. Also part of the household are his son David (b abt 1850), David's wife Mary Ann Burk (b abt 1851) and Rebecka above. There is also a child, age 8. The census is transcribed on Family Search as Sarah K A, but it's actually Rebecca.
I cannot find any of this family in the 1901 census anywhere in Canada or the USA. Rebeckah the elder died in 1882 and is buried in the Caledonia Cemetery.
Does anyone else have a clue as to where this family disappeared to, or perhaps is buried?
Note: there is another Mason family, that of David K. Mason. They are related.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
