Surnames: McKeen Bailey Hagan
We have done extensive research on the Baileys including many of the church records in Carrickfergus and surrounding areas. For most of these searches, we also watched for McKeens. There was a large McKeen family (or multiple families) in the area. I would be happy to share information. Unfortunately, we have not been able to locate the exact origins of James and Robert McKeen who married into the Bailey family. I suspect that they could be brothers, but two of the other Bailey daughters both married Hagan's and they have turned-out to be cousins; not brothers. So I suppose it is also possible that James and Robert McKeen were cousins? The Hagans were also from Carrickerfergus. There seems to have been a large cluster of families who emigrated from Carrickfergus to the same area in Ontario..but not all at the same time.
Please contact us directly if you would like to share McKeen family records...I would especially like to know how you found your Carrickfergus connection? Finding the origins in Ireland is a great start.
