My grandmother knew very little about her Muggaberg relations as her father was killed in an industrial accident when she was 6 months old. Her mother did not keep close ties with her in-laws, although they did have a memorable visit with my grandmother's Uncle Julius (Jr) in 1925. She had never had a birthday party before & he hosted one for her- she never forgot that. She also knew her Aunt Jemima, because she spoke of her temper but also said she had a kind heart & that she had given her a quilt as a wedding present. I have traced the Muggabergs back to Norway into the early 1700's.
